Everyone’s Talking! opens with an acoustic builder ‘[cold open]’, inviting the audience into the record made up of “a few years of trauma and magic tied up with a string and bow”. It’s a perfect assessment of the fifteen track collection.

Returning to the band’s energetic, heart racing rhythms, ‘Everyone’s Talking’ takes on the role of being an emo anthem for the mid-thirties. “This is not how I thought 35 would go, we’re two years into the horror show” – as teens, we screamed along to core-cutting lyrics about navigating the turbulent times of youth, but now as functioning adults in our thirties, we’re still going through the same insecurities.
Every good punk pop band needs to have a song titled ‘SUCKERPUNCH’ in their discography and All Time Low gives us their playful take.
There is an element throughout Everyone’s Talking! that is a little jarring – yes All Time Low still have the big-build choruses and the melodic makeup with Alex Gaskarth’s vocals as dynamic as ever – but the Maryland outfit have adopted an air of country. It becomes more obvious drifting into ‘Oh No!’, ‘The Weather’, and ‘Falling For Strangers’ with the subtle twangs and the open guitar tones.
Ten albums in, and still producing belters, All Time Low still has everyone talking.
