Having just wrapped a studio session at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios in Auckland in October to record a new album with award-winning producer Steve Schram (Paul Kelly, Crowded House, Tesky Brothers), the hard-working band led by ARIA Award-winning singer songwriter and former Weddings Parties Anything main man Mick Thomas simply can’t stay clear of the Christmas cheer. In 2013, they brought us Christmas Day At Spencer Street and these shows are yet again bringing back the spirit of Santa, promising presents for their audience in the form of specials.
To help make the latest record, which will follow their 2023 ARIA Top 40 Coolin’ By Sounds Records release Where Only Memory Can Find You, the band has announced a number of pre-order crowd funding packages, and also announced a brand new seven song EP that will be coming out as a pre-cursor to the album.
Thomas says, “We’ve been totally blown away by people’s generosity and their good faith to support a project that is at least six months from fruition – hell, it doesn’t even have a name at this stage! The pressure is on now. Time to cross the ditch and make a record I guess.’
What a time to get the album in order than before Christmas, making the perfect present!
