Where: Breakwater Hotel, Beer Garden, 57 Tucker St, Breakwater VIC 3219, Australia

Keep connected to your live music scene here.

The day will kick off with live performances from Axis Mundi, a local four-piece band known for their extraterrestrial surf jazz sound that is sure to captivate the crowd. Following them, Rob Major will bring the funk, creating irresistible beats that will have everyone dancing. Whether you’re there to enjoy the music or simply soak up the lively atmosphere, the energy will be high, making for an unforgettable experience.

For families, there’s no shortage of entertainment. Kids can dive into the trailer park sand pit, get their faces painted in all kinds of colourful designs, and even experience the solar scope—a unique opportunity to safely view the sun, thanks to the Astronomical Society of Victoria – Geelong. These activities, designed with young minds in mind, promise fun and learning for all ages.

Finn’s Oyster Bar will be serving up fresh, local seafood throughout the event, with all proceeds going towards the fundraising effort. Whether you’re a seafood aficionado or new to the experience, there’s something for everyone to savour.

The focus of this community gathering is the support of Geelong Auslan Connect, a local group that brings together Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, families, and Auslan users of all levels. They host informal, social events where Auslan is celebrated and valued, ensuring a space for connection, belonging, and shared experiences. The group works to reduce isolation and increase accessibility for the community, giving everyone the opportunity to engage, learn, and grow together.

In addition, First Hand Auslan will be on-site, providing Auslan interpreters Cara and Renee to ensure the event is accessible to all. Their presence underscores the importance of inclusivity and accessibility at every level of the event.

The event is organised by Intuitive Garden Design, founded by Shaun McLeod, who uses his passion for permaculture and community building to bring people together for meaningful causes. Drawing on the principles he learned during a shamanic course in Peru, Shaun and his team have created an event that fosters not just fun, but connection and support for causes that truly matter.

Intuitive Day Out isn’t just about enjoying a sunny afternoon. It’s a chance to come together, raise awareness, and support the local community.
