Experience the first-ever virtual Rainforest World Music Festival this weekend

Get ‘Entranced, Liberated, Immersed’ in your own home this weekend, when the Virtual Rainforest World Music Festival comes to your screens from the Borneo state of Sarawak.

The iconic festival began in 1998 with last year’s edition cancelled due to the pandemic.

This year, a musical showcase features a retrospective of past RWMF performances and new pre-recorded sessions with homegrown acts and interviews.

Registration is open and the three-day online programme will be free of charge.

Flashback to past festival highlights by some of the world’s most exciting acts. Check out the unique sounds and colour of local contemporary artists of Borneo complete with traditional instruments, dress and artwork including tribal tattoos passed down from headhunter times.

It will stream live on the official site from 8pm to 9:30pm (Australian Eastern Standard time) every day from 18-20 June. It’s great news for fans of global rhythms.
