Do you want to play at the Geelong City Market? Musician EOI’s are now open to play the Forte Magazine Buskers Stage!

Calling all local music makers - a new performance opportunity awaits!

In an exciting local collaboration, Geelong City Market, as led by Kieran Blood and Simon Toohey of Barwon Events Pty Ltd, has partnered with Forte Magazine to present a live music stage at the weekly market.

Taking over the Market Square Mall every Saturday from 9am until 2pm, Geelong City Market will be a hub for the community, providing a space for local growers of gourmet food, artisan drinks and handmade crafts from local creators to trade. The Forte Magazine Buskers Stage will be an enticing entertainment addition to the weekly activation, spotlighting the talented music offering the region has to offer.

Forte Magazine Buskers Stage at Geelong City Market

When: Every Saturday, between 9am and 2pm.

Set times: 2 x 1.5 hours set available. Player time slots are 10am and 11.30am.

Where: Geelong City Market, Market Square Mall, Little Malop Street, Geelong

Expressions of interest are now open to musicians to join the Forte Magazine Buskers Stage at Geelong City Market. Two 1.5 hour slots are available each week, at 10am and 11.30am, to serenade a spirited crowd of market-goers with vibrant live music. Whilst original acts are preferred, cover artists will also be considered.

This is a busking stage so players can put the hat out for donations and set up merch for sales. Busking permit is not needed for this designated set up.

With a PA and microphone provided, the marquee will have a busker style setup where acts plug in and play. The stage is open to all instruments that require limited to no setup, from guitarists, keys players, violinists and more. If you think your music would complement the market surrounds, we want to hear from you! Solo, duo, trios, and bands (able to streamline their setup for the a quick bump in and out) will all be considered!

All you need to do is fill out your details, provide a brief description of your act including links to any material, recording, footage of live shows, or social media links, and list your availability for the next three month period.

The Geelong City Market kicks off on Saturday 25 October, running from 9am until 2pm.

With exciting stallholders already announced on the hospitality front including ALMA, Mushroom Connection, Mi Shells Seafood, and Two Tins Patisserie, the Geelong City Market is looking to be a brilliant addition to our CBD.
