BARAKA THE KID drops album ahead of Pako Festa performance

The local hip hop artists questions the "what if's" in IF TOMORROW NEVA COMES (ITNC)

It’s a huge weekend of Geelong’s own BARAKA THE KID. The hip hop artist has today dropped his latest album IF TOMORROW NEVA COMES (ITNC), a stirring addition to his already celebrated catalogue.

BARAKA THE KID, a Congo-born Australian artist, captivates with his powerful, heartfelt lyrics and emotionally raw storytelling. Fusing alternative rap, R&B, and atmospheric hip-hop, his music delves into themes of grief, resilience, faith, and perseverance, always with striking vulnerability, shaped by his lived experiences and purpose.

Drawing from this, his latest album, IF TOMORROW NEVA COMES (ITNC) is distinctly his most intimate and reflective work yet. The project is a cinematic, alternative hip-hop body of work blending storytelling, soul, and high-energy rap. It explores growth, faith, ambition, and resilience — themes that connect deeply with young Australians navigating purpose and identity. Standout songs from the album, ‘IF TOMORROW NEVA COMES – ITNC’, ’16 Questions’, ‘Last Night I Cried’, ‘Millions’, and ‘NAKUPANDA (I LOVE YOU)’ all capture the navigation of self. The record itself is stacked with feature artists including JP_Beatz, LENNi, BLES3INGS and more.

It’s a bold entry for the artist and shows the depth of his artistry. BARAKA THE KID has made significant strides since his council supported foray into music. He is a proud alumn of the GRID Series, a professional development program for emerging artists with outcomes of releasing a single and music video by the end of the program, culminating in a live performance. Now a seven-time nominee and four-time award winner at the Music Victoria Awards, Baraka’s artistry has earned him the Creative & Performing Arts Award at the Multicultural Awards Victoria. He has also graced the stage at the Australian Open (TopCourt Stage), and headlined and curated live shows across Victoria to a growing dedicated audience. It’s only set to continue, as he joins the biggest multicultural street festival in the region tomorrow.

On February 28, Baraka will perform at Pako Festa in Geelong, marking his debut live band performance, where audiences can expect an evocative and electrifying display of emotion, depth, and dynamic energy.
