“This show represents the next evolution of how film music can be experienced live,” Zimmer shared.
Built around a striking new architectural stage design, the production blends cinematic visuals, intricate sound design and sweeping orchestration into a performance that aims to feel less like a traditional concert and more like total sensory immersion.
“I want fans to feel like they’re at a rave party or riding a roller coaster,” Zimmer said. “For me, every show is a new voyage of discovery. The greatest challenge is the status quo — you have to do everything in your power to leave it behind and find and create something new.”
Performing alongside his acclaimed 19-piece live band, Zimmer will also reunite with celebrated Australian vocalist Lisa Gerrard, whose haunting collaborations with the composer have become some of modern cinema’s most recognisable sonic moments.
The production arrives following a monumental European run that saw Zimmer complete 50 sold-out arena shows across 17 countries, performing to more than 600,000 fans and cementing Hans Zimmer Live as one of the most ambitious touring productions in contemporary music.
From the thunderous intensity of The Dark Knight and Dune to the emotional sweep of Interstellar, Gladiator and The Lion King, Zimmer’s compositions have transcended the screen to become cultural landmarks in their own right.
Across a career spanning more than 500 projects, the composer’s work has grossed upwards of $30 billion globally, earning him two Academy Awards, five Grammy Awards and generations of devoted fans drawn to the sheer scale and emotion of his sound.
Beyond the screen, Zimmer has evolved into one of the world’s most compelling live performers, transforming film music into arena-sized experiences that blur the line between concert, cinema and spectacle. His recent projects include the release of concert film Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert, alongside acclaimed scores for Euphoria and the blockbuster racing film F1.
Australian audiences will have the chance to experience that scale firsthand when Hans Zimmer Live – The Next Level arrives at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday 24 October, alongside performances at Qudos Bank Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and AEC Arena.
