Expressions of interest are now open for First Nations artists and practitioners.

Today, Brisbane’s premier music industry showcase, BIGSOUND have announced the expressions of interest for the Goolwal Goolwal program is now open.

Goolwal Goolwal is BIGSOUND’s First Nations curated and led program, designated as a purpose-built space to celebrate First Nations voices and amplify Indigenous talent in the industry. The program represents leaders and the next wave of industry gamechangers, platforming and supporting First Nations artists and creative practitioners at BIGSOUND throughout the event from the 1 – 4 September 2026.

Goolwal Goolwal is not just a music-led program. It has been designed as a space for culture, connection, learning, and creating with a vision to uplift all of the voices of participants.

The program is calling for expressions of interest from artists and practitioners wanting to be part of this years incredible offering, whether it be through making a cultural contribution, stand up as a keynote speaker, join a workshop, or something entirely different that you would like to see at this years showcase. Proposals are encouraged, with applications asking what goals you would like to achieve and if you are selection, how you would promote your session, and encourage participation.

It all adds to the huge 2026 program from the countries biggest industry showcase. Running over four days and three nights, BIGSOUND brings Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley to life with a global gathering of musicians, industry, brands, media and music lovers through a festival, conferences, workshops and public events, and industry showcases. This is a great opportunity to be involved in this years programming. Please note, this is not the same application for Artist Showcases.
