Darker Days Returns to Bright with Bold Brews and Alpine Revelry

Bright goes dark for this winter festival!

Bright Brewery’s much-loved winter festival, Darker Days, is set to return, promising a weekend of craft beer, live music, and all the alpine charm you could hope for. This year, the 2026 edition transforms the brewery into a winter playground, with roaring fires, festival-exclusive flavours, and a soundtrack to match.

Headlining the six-act line-up, The Grogans bring their infectious energy, joined by RAGEFLOWER, Five Buck Kid, Sophie Kelly, Lennon Paul, and Matt O’Gorman, delivering ten hours of live music that will echo through the Alpine Valley.

For those seeking more than music, the taps will overflow with a handpicked selection of guest breweries. New Zealand’s Garage Project crosses the ditch, Bracket Brewing journeys from New South Wales, while local favourites Kaiju! and Blackmans Brewery ensure a distinctly Victorian flavour. Spirits and wines from regional producers will also be on hand, for anyone chasing a taste of something different.

The festival is designed as a full alpine escape. A kids’ zone keeps little ones entertained, food trucks fuel the masses, exclusive festival merch waits for collectors, and fires throughout the site promise warmth and conviviality. Alpine Valley Getaways has partnered as the official accommodation sponsor, offering everything from cosy cottages to luxe alpine retreats for those choosing to stay overnight.

Getting home after dark is seamless, with the After Dark Bus providing return trips to nearby towns including Porepunkah, Ovens, Myrtleford, Wangaratta, Wandiligong, Freeburgh, Smoko, and Harrietville—pre-booking is essential.

Darker Days has long held its place as one of the region’s standout winter gatherings, blending craft, community, and celebration. This year, the festival looks set to cement that reputation once more.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
