Debuting at number one on the ARIA Australian Country Chart and drawing on life’s joys and struggles, Everything Around You is an uplifting collection of songs about hope, love and resilience, offering light in the midst of life’s challenges.
With a mix of Blues, Roots, Folk and Country, Felicity and Josh bring energy, warmth and nuance to every track. Featuring radio favourites I Want You, Joy Roller, Lifeline, Stone In Your Heart and New Frontier, the album highlights the duo’s knack for combining intricate instrumentation with heartfelt storytelling.
“Music is a miraculous form of expression that can inspire hope, and that’s what we want to do with our songs,” says Josh. Felicity adds: “Sharing our hopes, dreams and reflections feels like an important thing to do, not just for our own kids but for everything and everyone around us.”
Produced by Felicity, Josh and Matt Fell, and recorded across Birdsong Studio (Central Coast, NSW), Wilder Studio (Gowrie Park, TAS), and Fireswamp Studio (Blue Mountains, NSW), the album features Felicity & Josh on acoustic, electric, baritone, resonator and slide guitars, along with mandotar, banjos, ukuleles, glockenspiel and jaw harp. Matt Fell plays bass guitar, Hammond organ, Wurlitzer and Mellotron, with Josh Schuberth on drums and percussion, and pedal steel on the title track. Special guests include daughters Tia Hannah on fiddle and Ellie Hannah on bass guitar for Grace and Joy.
The tour has been underway, kicking off at Port Fairy Folk Festival and working through venues in New South Wales and Queensland. The tour follows on from a massive start to the year where they played Illawarra Folk Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Nundle Rocks, Riverboats Music Festival and Cobargo Folk Festival.
