Dry Cleaning confirm Australia and New Zealand tour including RISING appearance and Ballarat stop-in

The alt-rockers rise for festivals, VIVID, and RISING, in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

UK art-rockers Dry Cleaning are set to return to Australia and New Zealand this May and June, bringing their electrifying live show back to the region after their sold-out debut tour in 2022. The announcement comes alongside the release of their highly anticipated third studio album, Secret Love, marking a new chapter for one of the UK’s most compelling live acts.

The South London quartet—Florence Shaw (vocals), Tom Dowse (guitar), Nick Buxton (drums) and Lewis Maynard (bass)—will headline shows in Ballarat at the Civic Hall on Sunday 7 June, and in New Zealand with stops at Wellington’s Meow Nui on Tuesday 2 June and Auckland’s Hollywood Avondale on Wednesday 3 June. Alongside these headline performances, the band will also feature at major festivals including Vivid LIVE at the Sydney Opera House on Friday 29 May, and RISING: Melbourne at the Forum on Saturday 30 May.

Praised for their distinctive blend of poetic lyricism and alt-rock energy, Dry Cleaning first captured international attention in 2019 and quickly established themselves as “like no other band you’ve seen.” Their shows have been described as intelligent, thrilling, and utterly singular—a reputation the group has carried across continents and stages.

The new album Secret Love, produced by Cate Le Bon, follows 2021’s New Long Leg and 2022’s Stumpwork. It reflects the deep creative chemistry and friendship of the band, with Florence Shaw’s signature spoken-word delivery weaving seamlessly through the band’s rich sonic tapestry. Critics have noted the record’s daring fusion of post-punk paranoia, stoner rock swagger, dystopian textures, pastoral fingerpicking, and no wave playfulness—a bold statement from a band at the forefront of rock’s avant-garde.

Dry Cleaning’s return promises to be a highlight of the live calendar, offering fans both old and new a chance to experience the band’s magnetic stage presence and hear the new album live for the first time. With festivals, headline shows, and a career-defining new release, this is a tour not to be missed.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Monday 16 March at 12.00pm local time, with an MG Live presale available from Friday 13 March at 12.00pm local time. For presale access and all tour information, visit here.
