Nu-Metal needs to be revived and fast. For now this show takes you back to the begins with tributes to the top three – Around the Fur represent the sexier shoegaze of Deftones, Dirty Rotten Bizkit tackle Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit to keep the good times ‘Rollin’, and Follow the Leader get freaky with their covers of Korn. They are joined by Total Care and Mollies Hug, and hopefully a bunch of Bigfoot costume wearing crowd goers.

When: Saturday 21 March
Whilst this one is sold-out it needs a plug because of how top notch the lineup and the festival itself is. A festival that celebrates the punk and alternative scene, Jerkfest 11 nabbed the cream of the crop with this years offering, including the guitar-significant Eddy Current Suppression Ring. Just look at the full lineup to know how HUGE this show is going to be.
INSTITUTE (USA), THE CANNANES (NSW), R.M.F.C (NSW), EXEK, NICOLE PLAYS MINIMUM CHIPS, KRAKATAU, TEE VEE REPAIRMANN (NSW), WRONG WAY UP, RAPID DYE (NSW), THE PRIZE, CHIKCHIKA, NATHAN ROCHE, ROCKY, PUBLIC FIGURES, A SPEEDING VEHICLE (QLD),
DUMBELLS (NSW), THE JUDGES, WHO CARES?, THE BLINDS, HEDGE BURNERS, THE DACCAS (AC/DC COVERS), IUD (FIRST SHOW!) and DJ CLARA SLEWA.
When: Thursday 26 March
Another launch and another costume theme – this time Varuni Lila launches her new single ‘As I Am’, encouraging the audience to “dress up as an iconic photo of you as a child”. It’s going to be a nostalgia trip for sure. Alaska (solo) + My Giddy Aunt jump up as supports for this one.
When: Friday 27 March
Chrissy oh Chrissy – the iconic rocker from Geelong has been immortalised multiple times this year but this tribute show is set to represent the pub beginnings for the legendary band. ‘Boys In Town’, ‘I Touch Myself’, and ‘Pleasure and Pain’ will be delivered with the rasp, raunch, and raw appeal that Divinyls were known for.
When: Saturday 28 March
NSW East Coast punks Only At The Movies make their way to our riverside venue for a 90’s era romanticising of sonic proportions. This tour sees them supported by The Kittyhawks, Outta Spite, and All Hope Remains.

When: Sunday 29 March
If there is one thing that Barwon Club stand for – it’s community and they’re coming together again in the name of the Weir Family. Cut for Naomi is a fundraiser event for the locally loved Weir family who are doing it tough with medical treatments. There will be Dr. Colossus, Social Haunts and The Louds bringing tunes, and Mick Ryan from The Louds will be cutting his hair to stand in solidarity with Naomi, who is living with MDS-EB2, a rare and aggressive blood cancer. If there is one gig to get along to this month, it’s this one for an incredible cause!
When: Sunday 29 March
With Fooies back in the country soon, get those pipes primed with In Your Honour – the tribute to the rock band from Foo Fighters Experience. Go wild to ‘Everlong’ lose it to ‘Monkey Wrench’, go big with ‘Big Me’, and offer your best with ‘Best of You’. You know the tunes, now live them live.
It’s a mammoth month for the old faithful live music wateringhole. Get gigging and book your tickets here.
