The Rions go regional with extensive 2026 tour

Fresh from a sun-soaked Spilt Milk run, The Rions are wasting no time keeping the momentum rolling.

October marked a major milestone for The Rions with the release of Everything Every Single Day, an album that captured their coming-of-age clarity and confirmed what many already suspected — this band is built for the long haul. The release was followed by their biggest national theatre tour to date, including sold-out headline shows at Melbourne’s Forum and Hobart’s Odeon Theatre, before a whirlwind UK and European run closed out the year. Now, with festival dust barely settled, they’re turning their attention back home.

The band’s rise has been swift but earned. High school classmates Noah Blockley, Harley Wilson, Asher McLean and Tom Partington first broke through in 2021 after winning triple j’s Unearthed High competition. From there, it’s been a steady climb: debut EP Minivan in 2023, followed by Happiness In A Place It Shouldn’t Be in 2024, which peaked at #4 on the ARIA Australian Album Chart. Alongside sharp songwriting, it’s relentless touring that’s set The Rions apart.

Live is where the band truly thrive. Their 2024 Happiness In Places tour clocked up 21 shows nationwide and contributed to an impressive 20,000 headline tickets sold across the year. Regional Australia, in particular, has become familiar ground — and clearly one they’re keen to keep nurturing as their audience grows.

The upcoming tour brings The Rions to venues big and small, from Barwon Heads Hotel on Thursday 12 March to coastal favourites like Brunswick Heads, Sunshine Coast and Port Macquarie, before wrapping up on the Gold Coast. Pre-sale tickets are on sale now, with general tickets available from Thursday 18 December at 9am local time.

For a band still early in their story, The Rions are playing with the confidence of artists who know exactly where they’re headed — and they’re bringing regional Australia along for the ride.
