Led by the iconic vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother’s two-decade career has cemented them as a global force in rock. From headlining festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Splendour in the Grass, they are renowned for delivering show-stealing, packed-house crowds worldwide. Stockdale’s stadium-stealing solo set at the 2020 AFL Grand Final was a reminder of the bands influence as rock revivalists.
Their signature thick, throttling fuzz guitars, primal psychedelia, and thundering rhythms which took cues from genre-heads Black Sabbath and the White Stripes, had a generation of mellowed out headbangers pledge allegiance to the guitar gods. The band have consistently released material since their 2006 breakthrough with their most recent single ‘Stay A Little Longer’ landing in 2023.
The performances works into a month of huge things happening in the Torquay Hotel venue. Their gig guide boasts fellow early noughties Australian rockers Thirsty Merc, Don West, Ollie Lishman, and Ocean Grove sitting at the top of the month. It comes at the perfect time as Torquay Hotel unveil their major redevelopments of their beer garden.
