Beloved children’s author is doing a book signing in Geelong tomorrow

He's grossed out and cracked up children for generations and now he's celebrating his new side-splitting book.

From toilets to treehouses, Andy Griffiths tapped into the chaotic children’s comedy schtick of bathroom humour. His novel The Day My Bum Went Psycho was the highly contested book for borrowing in school libraries which would go onto be adapted for television, and the Just! series sent kids into giggle fits for days. With nine books in the series including Just Tricking!, Just Annoying!, Just Stupid!, Just Crazy!, and Just Disgusting! amongst the favourite titles, Griffiths captured the attention of readers from the late 90s through to the early 2000’s. The collaborative relationship with illustrator Terry Denton, made the books a global sensation, forming the basis of television series What’s With Andy?.

Next came the Treehouse series; lighter on the gross factor but equally as chaotic and humorous. The debut title The 13-Story Treehouse won the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year for Older Children in 2012 and the follow up The 26-Story Treehouse continued to capture the dedicated readers. The series was adapted in a successful stage play.

Now Griffiths is back with his latest side-splitting story, You & Me and the Peanut Butter Beast.

The sequel to the hilarious 2024 You & Me and the Land of Lost Things, Griffiths takes young readers on yet another whirlwind adventure.

To celebrate the release, Andy Griffiths will be heading into Geelong book store, Cook & Young Booksellers in Westfield Geelong to do a book signing. The event will be happening tomorrow, Thursday 4 September, from 4pm. Attendees can collect a copy of the new young children’s novel and get it signed by the author.

Cook & Young Booksellers asks attendees to note that signing per person will be limited to 3 books to ensure Griffiths gets though the anticipated long lines.

In addition, Westfield Geelong are celebrating the event with a giveaway. In a member exclusive, members have a chance to win 2 signed copies on Andy’s new book You & Me and the Peanut Butter Beast, a bespoke illustrated poster designed by Bill Hope, and a $250 Westfield Gift card.
