It’s a massive win for the region as Cut Copy notoriously only ever play major cities and festivals. They started strong with a live debut at Livid in front of 5000 people in 2003 and have continued to impress large crowds. 2005 saw them support huge names including Franz Ferdinand, The Presets, Junior Senior, Bloc Party and Mylo while also playing a number of European festivals. Their sophomore album In Ghost Colours catapulted them to stardom in 2008, with tracks ‘Lights & Music’ and ‘Hearts on Fire’ becoming staples in the EDM scene.

Now celebrating their upcoming album Moments due to drop on 5 September, with lead singles ‘Still See Love’, ‘When This Is Over’ and ‘Solid’ swirling around the airwaves, the band came up with a wild idea of doing a warm up show for a venue they have ties to. Cue the call to Barwon Heads Hotel.

It’s an extra special event as bassist Ben Browning grew up in Geelong, and the band haven’t played a room of this size since their inception – if ever! The band can’t even recall playing a headline show in regional Australia so this is a delicious treat!

Enlisting local support from Eddie Example to kick things into gear, this Cut Copy show is going to be one for the bands’ history books.

Tickets to see Cut Copy at Barwon Heads Hotel go on sale Monday 11th August, from 9am AEST. Find tickets and information here.
