Bellarine Estate Winery is gearing up to host the Ultimate Labour Day BBQ on Saturday March 9, 2024. Tucked against the picturesque backdrop of Corio Bay, this event promises a day filled with live blues music, tantalising Texas BBQ, refreshing drinks, and family-friendly entertainment.
Perfect for the long weekend, Bellarine Estate Winery is inviting guests to immerse themselves in a celebration of good food, great music, and even better company. The event will feature a stellar lineup of local blues artists, including the soulful sounds of Sammy Owen Band, the toe-tapping tunes of Phil Coyne & The Wayward Aces, and the captivating performances of Laurel & The Painkillers.

Formed in 2011, the Sammy Owen Blues Band has become a staple of Melbourne’s blues scene, delivering electrifying performances at venues across the city. Led by left-handed electric guitarist and vocalist Sammy Owen, the band’s contemporary, funky sound has earned them a dedicated following and rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
Phil Coyne & The Wayward Aces are known for their high-energy performances and sharp tunes that harken back to the golden age of Chicago blues. Led by blues harp blaster and singer Phil Coyne, the band’s full-throttle show is a testament to their passion for the genre and their dedication to delivering an unforgettable live experience.
Blending blues, rock, pop, and groove, Laurel & The Painkillers deliver a unique and captivating sound that is sure to get audiences on their feet. With hit songs like “Bad Luck Comes In Three” and “Keep On Moving Towards The Light,” this talented lineup is a force to be reckoned with, promising an evening of electrifying energy and passion.
But the excitement doesn’t end with the music. Attendees will also have the opportunity to indulge in Bellarine Estate’s famous authentic American BBQ, expertly prepared on the smoker by winery owner and chief pitmaster Peter Kenny. From succulent ribs and juicy brisket to tender pulled pork and delectable sides, the menu is a celebration of the art of BBQ.

The event kicks off at 12:00pm, with live music starting at 12:30pm. General admission tickets are priced at $20.00 (plus ticket fee), and children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
