40 years of the Working Class Man: Jimmy Barnes brings celebrated song and album to Geelong

He will be playing a string of wineries to celebrate the major milestone.

Jimmy Barnes has today announced a major concert celebration for his landmark solo album For The Working Class Man. He will be hitting the road heading to wine country across the nation for the Working Class Man 40th Anniversary Tour.

Proudly presented by MG Live and Face to Face Touring, the tour kicks off on Saturday 22 November at Mount Duneed Estate, Geelong VIC, and then heads to Sirromet Wines, Mount Cotton QLD on Saturday 29 November; Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley NSW on Saturday 6 December; The Regatta Grounds, Hobart TAS on Saturday 17 January; Peter Lehmann Wines, Barossa Valley, SA on Saturday 31 January; and Sandalford Wines, Swan Valley WA on Saturday 7 February.

The tour will take audiences back to the albums birth in 1985, playing it in full including the opener ‘I’d Die to be with you Tonight in Paradise’, the anthemic ‘Working Class Man’ and all in between. The album went straight to number one in the charts and cemented Barnes as a solo artist. For The Working Class Man has continued from strength to strength welcoming new audiences and going on to define Australia’s most popular and successful musician.

Joining Jimmy Barnes on the stage are friends, coworkers and Australian music legends. Cold Chisel comrade, Ian Moss will be sliding through his solo works, Kate Ceberano will get the party started with ‘Pash’ and ICEHOUSE will send everything ‘Electric Blue’.

In addition, the tour announcement comes with a special 40th anniversary reissue of For The Working Class Man from Mushroom Group.
