The new and exciting offering will see an expected 10,000 people attend in person and via Instagram live stream, bridging the two water surrounding settings of the Bellarine with Greece. Portarlington Greek Festival promises an event to make the Greek community proud, incorporating traditions, foods and goods into the offering.
With over 80 stallholders on the market list, expect handmade original products with a Greek theme, rich and flavourful Greek foods – think your fresh Mediterranean meals of mousakka, gyros, and Loukaniko – and spirits with Danny Boy Distillery making the Ouzo.
On the entertainment front, the Greek band, Anagenisi will be driving the day alongside the Bellarine Big Band. Belly dancers led by Joanna Belly Dancer and Zorba dancing will also be highlighted.
The event is free to attend however donations are appreciated. The success of this years initial run will determine the Portarlington Greek Festival’s return, earmarking it as an annual affair and gathering of the region’s Greek community.
