We thought it would be forever, but sadly a sudden departure is imminent for Geelong café owners, Blank Space.
Owner operators Josh and Katie have taken to social media to announce their Pakington Street, Newtown end establishment will be taking on a new era from the end of this week following a six year stint spearheading the space.

The decision comes after the duo stepped into a partnership earlier this year with Jed Bews of Geelong Cats fame for central Geelong café, Bettys, along with consideration for their family.
The statement shared to social media reads, “After six incredible years, it’s time to go. This week will be our last as Blank Space as we know it. We know it feels sudden, but we have an opportunity to step away, and now with three little ones, this was the best option for our family. The hospo world is always changing and it feels like the right time to close this chapter.”
It continues, “We’ll be forever grateful for what this place has been, from the first coffee poured to the countless conversations, laughs, memories and friendships made. We love our Blank Space community and we’ll always remember how you made this café feel like home.”
“A new business will be moving in soon and we’ll share details when we can. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for turning our Blank Space into something unforgettable. We’d love to see as many of you as we can this week but this isn’t goodbye forever, just the start of a new era. In the meantime we can find find us at Betty’s.”
In a fitting send off for the Taylor Swift inspired café, they say, “long live all the magic we made.”
