Naomi & i attracts customers from across the country for their aesthetically appetising treats

A famous foodie spot in Ballarat, Naomi & i is much more than a photo on Instagram.

From the nurtured mind of Frazer Bernard Wyley, Naomi & i is the second establishment to take off in the online space for the cafe creative. The previous venture, Melbourne-based Harrow and Harvest, was a content-creator’s dream thanks to its gorgeously curated brunch dishes and bright colour beverages that made the Insta-verse go gangbusters. Across four years, the establishment ran with 40 staff and housed 170 seats, building Wyley’s hospitality foundations and armour, giving him the fearlessness to tackle the next chapter.

Cut to Naomi & i. Nestled into the busy Ballarat centre on Doveton Street, Naomi & i sees Wyley wired back into the Instagram world. Naomi & i is a takeaway only concept store committed to the three C’s of treats; cakes, cookies and coffee. The namesake of the business is Wyley’s late grandmother, whom Wyley calls a “massive foodie who created impeccably clean and aesthetic looking gourmet dishes”. Wyley credits his grandmother as the person who taught him everything he knows about food with honest home cooking and baking that was based on dishes passed down through generations. He says “it’s the little things that aren’t written anywhere that create the magic. A dash of lemon here, a sprinkle of sugar there are just some of the whispers that we pass down through the family tree”.

The magic of cooking is evident in the Naomi & i offering whilst also tapping into the aesthetic appearances Naomi loved. The bright, bold and beautiful treats are a combination of in-house speciality baked goods and locally hand made treats. Through Naomi & i, Wyley builds a strong case for supporting the community. Adding to the colourful nature of Naomi & i is a fresh selection of flowers as sources from local suppliers. They use two local bloom businesses, Luvleigh Estate Flower Farm for the nature bunches and Florelie Seasonal Flower Farm for the customer favourite dahlias.
