The Easter Egg hunt will be running from 9am, with chocolate treasures scattered around the market ready for little explorers to find. There will be heaps of eggs hidden in the Little Malop Street Mall so no one will miss out.

The hunt is just the beginning. Little artists can channel their inner Easter bunnies in the market’s kids’ creative corner, crafting drawings for a chance to win a giant chocolate egg. Meanwhile, budding chefs will flock to the Kidz Kitchen at 11am, where they’ll learn to whip up a dazzling rainbow fried rice that is as colourful as it is delicious.

And for the sweet-toothed among us, Simone from Amazed Gluten Free has outdone herself, crafting a towering croquembouche ready to be won in a raffle that could make any chocolate lover’s heart skip a beat.

“This Easter we wanted to create something really special for families,” said Simon Toohey, founder of Geelong City Market. “The market is already a place where community comes together every Saturday, so bringing the biggest Easter egg hunt in Geelong into the mix just felt right. It’s going to be a fantastic morning for kids and parents alike.”

Of course, the usual market magic will be in full swing: fresh local produce, artisanal treats, makers’ stalls, live music, and the lively hum of community life that makes Geelong City Market a weekly highlight. As always, the Geelong City Market is completely free to visit with no booking required for the activities.

So grab the kids, bring a basket, and prepare for a morning of chocolate-fuelled adventure.
