The course itself is a joy to play. A beautifully treed nine-hole layout with 18 alternate tees, it offers the variety and challenge of a full course while remaining approachable for golfers of all abilities. One visit might be a breezy midweek nine, the next a strategic weekend 18, each framed by birdsong, bay breezes and leafy outlooks that make it easy to forget you are just minutes from the city. 

Beyond the greens, East Geelong Golf Club has become a lively social destination. The clubhouse, The Club Bar, welcomes members and locals alike to celebrate milestones and everyday moments. With capacity for up to 120 guests, a full bar and sweeping views across Corio Bay and the Botanical Gardens, it is a popular setting for milestone birthdays, weddings, Italian themed dinners, wine tastings and community gatherings. The drinks list highlights regional quality, with Scotchmans Hill as the dedicated wine partner alongside a solid selection of tap and bottled beers.

On site, Mercy Café completes the experience with crowd pleasing burgers, fresh sandwiches and cheeky fries, plus quality coffee to keep energy levels high. It is casual, well executed fare that perfectly suits a long afternoon at the club or a relaxed catch up with friends.

As the weather warms, the club’s social calendar comes alive. First Fridays transform the grounds into a sun soaked social playground on the first Friday of each month through to March. Live music drifts across the lawns, Mercy Café serves burgers and tacos, cocktails are shaken by The Tiny Traveller mobile bar, and kids activities ensure the whole family feels welcome.

Adding to the buzz, Comedy at the Club brings laughter to the fairways. Whether lining up a putt, clinking glasses at sunset or soaking up the atmosphere, East Geelong Golf Club offers a playful yet polished experience where history, hospitality and heart meet beautifully.
