Holistic health and healing are on the agenda this October, as inaugural event, The Festival of Wellness, wheels into Deakin University Waterfront Campus. Across two days, on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October, The Festival of Wellness will become Geelong’s newest destination for connection, community and feel-good transformation.
Brought to you by the same team behind Geelong’s own Piccadilly Market with seasoned events specialist Janina Lear at the helm, The Festival of Wellness is your gateway to feeling good. The event integrates market stalls with workshops and sessions, live music and entertainment, creative activations, and food. The market and expo space includes over 50 stalls from creatives, health brands, and wellness businesses.

Boasting a bright program of over 40 sessions, The Festival of Wellness works through yoga, meditation, sound healing, breathwork, creative workshops, live music, intuitive readings, nutrition, and self-nurturing events. For any of the immersive exercises, participants should bring their own mats, blankets, and pillows, according to the session requirements, with sessions running on a first in best dressed basis. Experience rooms can hold up to 70 people. Creative Workshops can be prebooked at an additional cost.
With break out spaces, food trucks, and lounges including Breathwork and Meditation Lounges, the Mindfulness Colouring Lounge, and Affirmation Wall, along with an intuitive readers lounge, there is so much to experience.
To help navigate the full offering, the festival is divided into spaces of serenity including The Sacred Space, The Sanctuary, The Haven 1, The Haven 2, the Courtyard, and the designated Creative Workshops space.

The Sacred Space is a spot where tranquillity comes in the form of group healing, energy exercises and sound journeys. There are sound healing and sound immersion experiences, awakenings, meditation exercises, and breathing activity. Sessions are led by known names in the health space including Tanya Wasylewski, Katrina Valdez, and award-winning Sound Healer/Spiritual Musician, Bindy from Divine Horizons.

Settle into The Sanctuary, where body, mind and soul are connected through dance, movement and mediumship. Journey onto the other side with live audience spiritual connections with Readings Healing Academy, go through a guided meditation, breathwork, journaling, and heart-opening live music session with Hazel Ray and feel the restorative nature of ancient Chinese medicine Qigong.

THE SANCTUARY 2 BONUS SESSIONS
The Courtyard is your stage for the two days where you will witness a beautiful opening ceremony led by Michelle Teunon, witness a tradition Tribal Drum performance from Aware Wolves, featuring Native American Flutes, Drums and Didgeridoo with Fredrick little Fox as SHUNKA, and honour the handpan with a live handpan music session designed for relaxation and inner reflection. Participants can sit or lie down and enjoy the calming sound of the handpan in a peaceful atmosphere.

Begin your journey to holistic health here with a simple equal breathing exercise, aimed to help calm the mind and body.
Step One: Take yourself outside into nature as the smells of Spring delight the senses.
Step Two: Sit on the ground or grass with your legs crossed. Straighten your back with head facing forward, and place the palms of your hands on the earth beside you.
Step Three: Close your eyes
Step Four: Inhale one breath through your nose for a count of four – (one, two, three and four)
Step Five: Exhale one breath through your nose for a count of four – (one, two, three and four)
Step Six: Repeat until you feel your body and your mind are relaxed.
