Coburg Night Market returns for 2022 with a new location, live music and local makers

With a new home, the free event will host local vendors and entertainers for a weekend of family-friendly fun.

Coburg Night Market will make a joyous return in 2022, this year setting up a new home at Coburg Courtyard (Cnr Waterfield St and Victoria St) on the steps of the Coburg train station.

Running three consecutive days December 9-11, the much-loved pre-Christmas event offers locals a smorgasbord of food and drink, family friendly live music and market stalls from local small business and creative entrepreneurs.

• The beloved event will return for the weekend of December 9 to 11
• Visitors can expect a celebration of local food, drink, and wares
• The market will host daily live performances and fun activities for the whole family

This year, the musical stage will be curated by beloved Triple R presenters Small FRY (Mooncake),  Beź Zewdie (Represented) and Simon Winkler (Breaking and Entering). Across three summer days and nights, expect to see Coburg spring to life with an exceptional smorgasbord of world-quality music to appeal to young ‘n’ old.

From the ambient, moody electronica of Rainbow Chan to Yung Shogun’s confident rock-hip-hop amalgamation or dj pgz’s bass-heavy dance, the high vibes will resonate through the very heart of Coburg until after dark next month. Check out the full lineup below.

Starting in 2010 as an off-shoot of the Queen Vic Market’s Summer Night Market series, the Coburg Night Market has grown into a much loved family-friendly event. Previous iterations have had a little something for everyone, from bars and dance classes for the adults to a kids’ entertainment zone with hula hooping and games.

The Coburg event is just one of a handful of end-of-year festivities on offer for Melbournians. Those looking to get into the spirit can meander through the Good Food and Wine Show Christmas market, Section 8’s container bar market, the Welcome Merchant’s Refugee Community’s market, and a plethora of others.
