Tonight Friday 13 March Deneka will launch their second concept album, Three Witches, with a live performance that promises a night unlike any other. The launch gig takes place at 35 Ryrie Street, Geelong (Geelong’s newest home for live music) , following the album’s release on 6 March and the prior unveiling of single ‘Sea Witch Pt 2’ on 25 February.

Three Witches is an oratorio in the truest sense, presenting three intertwined tales of travellers on mythic quests. Each story summons both the monumental and the intimate, guiding listeners through encounters with the witches themselves. The live performance adapts the album start to finish, with only brief pauses for tea, allowing the music’s spell to remain unbroken.

Deneka’s sound is a study in contrasts. Drawing humble inspiration from the lyrical intimacy of Leonard Cohen and the folk warmth of The Seekers, it simultaneously plunges into riffs and resonant drones reminiscent of Black Sabbath and Wolfmother. Amid the sludge, fleeting, ethereal drones and melodies emerge, echoing the pious, tranquil grandeur of Pink Floyd’s chamber-like compositions.

The band, Jordan Deneka on guitar and vocals, Raami on bass, Matt Barber on guitar and synth, and Milo Emmanuel on percussion, crafts an experience designed to lull, shock, and transport the listener in equal measure.

Adding to the magic are special guests Translucid, a collective of multi-instrumentalist composers whose improvisational sensibilities transform the evening into a truly dynamic sonic journey. Their mastery of melody, harmony, rhythm, and texture ensures that every note feels alive, adapting in real time to the moment.

For one night only, Deneka invites audiences to step into a world of myth, music, and mesmerising performance. Hold on to your socks, it is going to be a ride.
