The line-up is nothing short of dazzling. Platform Arts will crank the volume outdoors with After Walter Hopps Remix, transforming the streets into a pulsing, all-in dance floor. Expect DJs, cyphers, and that unshakable “everyone belongs” vibe.
Over at Back to Back Theatre Studio, the doors will swing open to showcase the outcome of a recent school-based residency, championing the voices and identities of young people across Geelong. It’s raw, local, and brimming with the next generation of creative energy.
At Geelong Library & Heritage Centre, comedian and design tragic Tim Ross digs into Australia’s housing obsession with wit and bite in The Australian Dream? — a show that will have you laughing and maybe crying into your hypothetical mortgage papers. And outside, witness Buff Diss’s bold tape installation. Geometric designs transform the pavement into a fleeting artwork, inviting you to see the space in a new way, today only!

In Johnstone Park, prepare to be swept away by Tomorrow Blooms, a futuristic botanical wonderland from Superficial Studio’s Andrew Kupresanin and Belinda Chen. Imagine a digital super bloom unfolding across the park – flowers alive with colour, light and tech. Scan a QR code, and you’ll even take home your own personal digital bloom, a reminder of how every action ripples through nature.
Local First Nations artists, led by Dr Paola Balla, will create Gathering Place – a powerful bush-dyed fabric installation celebrating culture, resilience, and connection. And if that’s not enough colour, Dr Anindita Banerjee’s Arranged Marriage will explode down Little Malop Street: a vibrant street procession blending Bollywood beats, satire, and a kaleidoscope of costumes that dares you not to dance along.

And then there’s the showstopper: a giant falcon, standing four metres tall with a ten-metre wingspan, roaming the streets with puppeteers, light shows, and soundscapes.

With more than 60 percent of the program featuring local artists alongside world-class talent, ROAM Geelong isn’t just another event – it’s a love letter to the city, written in light, sound, and movement. Best of all? Most of it’s free.
So grab your mates, lace up your dancing shoes, and prepare to ROAM. Geelong won’t just be hosting Victoria’s newest arts event – it’ll be living it.
