Housed in the historic Federal Mills precinct, Paddock Bakery is a culinary jewel bringing the cult warmth of its Burleigh Heads origins to Geelong. Opened in 2024 by local food enthusiasts Ayman and Jenna Muhor and Cam and Penny Hamilton, this industrial-chic haven has swiftly become a must-visit for locals and visitors alike. Exposed brick walls, sun-dappled courtyard seating, and the gentle hum of a relaxed bustle create the perfect backdrop for what is, quite simply, a full-blown belly experience.

At the heart of Paddock Bakery’s allure is its hand-built woodfired oven, producing wood-fired sourdough loaves, pastries, and desserts that are nothing short of iconic. Their all-day brunch menu seduces with inventive offerings: pork, apple and pistachio sausage rolls, the hype-generating Mediterranean vegetarian danish, and turkey and cranberry toasties that taste like Thanksgiving captured in a single bite. On the sweeter side, the crème brûlée doughnuts, gooey cookies, and a rotating selection of cheesecakes have devotees rolling out the door with blissful smiles. Then there are the sourdough loaves; golden, crusty, aromatic, and essential take-home treasures.
Paddock Bakery doesn’t just satisfy cravings; it elevates them. Pastries paired with prosecco, towering milkshakes dotted with indulgent treats, and freshly brewed coffee create a menu that is as visually captivating as it is flavourful. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, it’s the perfect spot for a caffeine fix, a midday indulgence, or weekend catch-ups in a space that is as pet-friendly as it is inviting.
Last year, Paddock Bakery expanded its culinary reach to Geelong’s University Hospital precinct, opening a container location on the corner of Myer and Bellarine Streets. Here, the bakery serves hospital staff and visitors freshly baked donuts, cookies, croissants, sandwiches, salads, and, of course, coffee. Beyond feeding appetites, they contribute $1 from every coffee sold during dedicated health weeks to the Barwon Health Foundation, offering staff a 10% discount while supporting vital local services.
