Macklemore’s last visit to Australia was in 2022 when he headlined the fifth edition of Fridayz Live, alongside iconic artists such as Akon, TLC, and Craig David. Following his Australian stint, the artist hunkered down and poured his creative energies into producing his third solo studio album, “BEN,” released in 2023. The album features notable singles like ‘CHANT’ with Australia’s very own Tones And I, ‘NO BAD DAYS’ featuring Collett, ‘HEROES’ with DJ Premier, and ‘MANIAC’ with Windser. Macklemore’s return to the music scene has been met with critical acclaim and adoration from fans.
Critics have praised “BEN” as Macklemore’s best album. NME hails it as a cathartic and honest release that reflects the clutter of life while staying true to Ben Haggerty’s unique storytelling. “Macklemore, like you remember him,” says Ringer, and The Music acknowledges the satisfaction of hearing him tell his truth.
Macklemore has been consistently touring the “BEN” project worldwide throughout 2023, and his return to Australia will give fans the chance to experience tracks from the album live for the very first time.
With over 13.2 billion combined streams, worldwide accolades, and critical acclaim, Macklemore stands as one of the most successful independent artists of the 21st century. His previous album, “GEMINI,” released in 2017, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #3 on the ARIA album chart. It featured the 9 x ARIA platinum certified single, ‘Glorious,’ and the 5 x ARIA platinum ‘Good Old Days.’ Macklemore’s music videos have garnered over 5 billion views, and he is one of only two rappers with an RIAA Diamond-certified single for ‘Thrift Shop.’
