Sometimes you can rely on a drummer. It took the late Keith Moon to help shape Led Zeppelin, as least it terms of their name. When former Yardbirds guitarist Jimmy Page set out with The New Yardbirds, the stickman remarked they would go down like a “lead zeppelin”.

British India will welcome Nothing Touches Me at Geelong’s Worker’s Club on May 30. The gig is one of 18 dates, the final of the run, in celebration of the band’s fifth album which dropped only a matter of days ago. Formed out of Melbourne in 2004, the band released their debut album, Guillotine, in 2007. The Bendigo Folk Club has a couple of international lovelies coming up you may wish to turn your attention to – or affection to if that is your thing. The Whitetop Mountaineers are set to perform on April 10. The duo is the old-time country baby of Martha Spencer and Jackson Cunningham. They’ve become quite the favourites here, having toured Australia on four previous occasions.

Clint would steer the ship until early 2012, when personal and creative differences led to his departure – Boge informed his former bandmates of his decision in September, 2011.

Originally from Margaret River, Rowena grew up in a family band and played her first gig when she was just eight.

In 1987 the Warumpi Band released ‘My Island Home’, a track written in reference to lead singer George Burarrwanga’s home at Elcho Island off the coast of Arnhem Land. Christine Anu, who was a back-up vocalist for Neil Murray and The Rainmakers, would record a version of the track for her 1995 debut, Stylin’ Up.

Clocking in at over seven minutes, ‘Last Laugh’ is the new single from Melbourne five-piece Hollow Everdaze. The band went through a tough patch recently when their Bacchus Marsh shed burnt down due to an electrical fault. Almost all of the band’s instruments, gear and collective personal possessions were wiped out in the process.

Celtic-flavoured punks The Rumjacks will soon take to the road with a bunch of new songs in their swag. One of the new tracks is ‘Blows & Unkind Words’, which has been steadily clocking up the views on YouTube. One song is great, an album’s worth is even better. On February 6 the band released Sober & Godless, their second full-length album.
