The tale follows siblings Hansel and Gretel on an adventure full of treats, sweets, and an eclectic old lady. In this retelling, Hansel and Gretel are on school holidays and find themselves deep in the woods. They pass the time by looking for adventures and playing games, until they stumble on a tiny home in the middle of the woods. But this is no ordinary house as it is made from lollies and sweets. Just who lives there? And why are the walls so tasty?
The show comes from the distinguished Theatre 3Triple2 Inc, a community theatre company based at the Bellarine Arts Centre multi-arts facility. With over 20 years of productions under their belt, the group program seasonal theatre productions spanning children’s theatre, contemporary theatre, and some experimental items for all audiences. Their annual productions include children’s pantomimes performed in the January, July and September school holidays, along with their upcoming Winter Solstice performed in June, and 12×12 short plays performed each December to close out the year.
Their aim is to create contemporary theatre shows accessible to all. As such tickets to see Hansel and Gretel are on $15.00 each, with bundles at $50 for a family (4 tickets), and group bookings at $12.50 each for groups of 12+ persons.
