Arts Guide: Regional artists to shine at arts festivals and exhibitions across March

Shepparton Arts Festival, Beechworth Biennale and a whole lot of locals on showcase.

This month is all about arts activation from within the local arts community. What happens when an entire town gets together in the name of art? What about when a gallery dedicated their entire gallery space to local makers? How about when an artists community comes together for a shared group exhibition? You’ll find out this month across galleries and festivals in regional Victoria.

The Regional

When: Until 15 MAR

The Regional at Warrnambool Art Gallery presents new works by five contemporary artists tackling the complexities of regional, remote, and rural Australian experiences. The exhibition challenges the idea of a divide between metropolitan and regional art, prompting reflection on the concept of “centre” in the Australian landscape. Drawing from the Colin Holden Print Collection and the Geelong Gallery Collection, this exhibition brings together works that explore architectural subject matter through the print medium.
