A bunch of local businesses raised some much needed $$ for the Good Friday Appeal

As many of you will be well into your first day back at work after the long weekend, we thought we’d take a look back at Good Friday and the great things some local businesses have done for the appeal.

With the local market and auction held on Friday, April 7 at King of the Castle, organised by Victor Fox Design and Colour and Skulls, the event raised over just over $16k ($3.25 over to be exact!).

Another local donation came with the team from Burger Inc, who donated the total day’s takings from sales on Thursday, April 13. This saw them raise $5721 for the appeal. Burger Inc have previously been very active with the appeal, and last year raised just over $5k.

A charity auction for a house at Armstrong Creek in Mt Duneed raised $627,500 donated to the cause. The house was donated by the company Henley, who have made a (very great) habit of donating houses to the cause each year with no reserve.

Black Hatt also had a fundraiser for the day, though we’re not sure as of yet how much was donated on the day.

Piano Bar and Truffleduck teamed up for a day of great music, food and even greater company (and all for a good cause). They raised $7,110 – and that’s not even including the donation tins! The Inn Hotel also raised $2,600 from their Thursday night of trade.

The overall tally for this year’s Good Friday Appeal was $17,605,662, and we’re feeling prety confident Geelong and other regional towns did their fare share for the day.

For those we’ve missed (though please let us know) you deserve a massive pat on the back as well!
