Mozart’s Don Giovanni
When: 25 JUL
Where: Lighthouse Theatre, Warrnambool
It’s the last day of Don Giovanni’s life, though he does not know it. Mozart’s opera follows the infamous seducer as pleasure-seeking leads to violence and ultimately reckoning, underscored by an opening chord signalling fate. Opera Australia’s national tour returns to Warrnambool with a 1950s-inspired staging directed by Michael Gow, featuring leading singers and chamber orchestra and live chamber orchestra.
Gunawarra Re-creation

Where: Geelong Arts Centre
Directed by First Peoples leader in the arts Dr Rachael Maza AM and written by Isobel Morphy-Walsh, ILBIJERRI Theatre Company is one of Australia’s leading First Peoples theatre companies. Gunawarra Re-creation follows three generations of Taun Wurrung women as memory, place and story intersect. At a watering hole, Murrun meets Gunawarra, the Black Swan, exploring cultural continuation and Blak women’s healing.

Where: Her Majesty’s Theatre, Ballarat
A program of passion and flair featuring Melbourne Chamber Orchestra with accordionist James Crabb, showcasing the instrument’s expressive range. From Rameau and CPE Bach to Gubitsch’s tango pulse and Scottish tradition, the program spans eras of expressive, searching, alive music. Aaron Wyatt offers a moving portrait of Australian landscape exploring identity, Country and connection to nature, grounding the concert.

Orchestra Victoria: Firebird
When: 24 JUL
Where: Ulumbarra Theatre, Bendigo
Journey with Orchestra Victoria into myth, legend and magic at Ulumbarra Theatre, led by conductor Sam Weller. Mikhail Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture opens, followed by Debussy’s Petite Suite and Stravinsky’s Firebird, evoking folklore, aristocratic charm and supernatural spectacle in a program led by dynamic interpretation and vivid orchestral colour across Russian and French repertoire tradition and storytelling alive performance.
