Victorian Vibes Hits Gippsland: Traralgon Gears Up for Its Pop-Up Music Moment

The Victorian Vibes train continues rolling out live music across the state.

Fresh from a spectacular weekend along the Great Ocean Road, ALWAYS LIVE’s Victorian Vibes series is setting its sights on Traralgon, bringing a free pop-up live music experience deep into the heart of regional Victoria.

Lorne proved the magic is real. Beneath the crisp autumn sun, the seaside town came alive with spontaneous performances from Aussie favourites Augie March, indie trailblazers Middle Kids, and rising singer-songwriter Azure Ryder. Cafés, bars and public spaces thrummed with energy, as the music spilled into streets and laneways, capturing the very spirit of Victorian Vibes: a celebration of community, creativity, and the shared joy of live music.

ALWAYS LIVE CEO Psyche Payne says, “Lorne was everything we hoped it would be – Augie March, Middle Kids and Azure Ryder were all absolutely incredible, and seeing that town light up around the music was a genuine thrill. Victorian Vibes keeps surprising us with just how much these communities embrace the series, and we can’t wait to take that energy to Traralgon.”

Minister for Tourism Natalie Suleyman offers, “This series isn’t just about the incredible artists and amazing locations – it’s also a way to showcase the best of regional Victoria to fans interstate and overseas and making them consider Gippsland for their next holiday.”

“We’ve already seen two epic gigs attract visitors from around the country to Lorne and Ballarat, and we can’t wait to see another show in Traralgon. It’s going to be a huge boost for businesses in the region.”

Traralgon, long celebrated as a vibrant live music hub, is now poised to take centre stage on Saturday 16 May. True to the series’ signature approach, the performing artists will be unveiled closer to the event via ALWAYS LIVE’s digital channels, with registered attendees receiving exclusive details on performance times and locations.

Victorian Vibes continues its statewide journey every second weekend until the end of June, championing live music as a conduit for connection, discovery and regional tourism. Supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria, the series embodies ALWAYS LIVE’s mission to showcase the diversity, culture, and spirit of Victoria through unforgettable, free-to-access live music experiences.
