Grinspoon catapulted to fame in the late ’90s and early 2000s with their post-grunge and alternative sound. After winning triple j’s Unearthed program, they quickly gained a dedicated local following.
Their second album, Easy, went platinum in Australia as well as their third album, New Detention, which featured the smash-hit Chemical Heart. Despite being a new sound for the band, the album was widely adored and peaked at number two on the ARIA Album Charts.
They’ll be playing much of the music off of these two releases on the Easy Detention tour this spring. Both albums will soon be available on vinyl alongside some new merch – fans can pre-order the records now or wait until they go live on September 8.
The rambunctious punks in Private Function will help set the mood right alongside the rising rock and roll seven-piece Cupid & The Stupids.
“We can not wait to see you again, visiting every state of this gawjus country,” said the band in a social media statement.
Tickets for Grinspoon’s Easy Detention tour are set to go on sale on Friday, June 2 at 9am local time. To get notified, head here.
